Come along and watch, they’re both absolutely free! ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ is a new family friendly musical with great songs and dances and really cool puppets.
You can also check out my article on putting them together on Broadway World.

Poland’s foremost outdoor theatre company Teatr Biuro Podrózy present Swiniopolis at the National Theatre’s Square² on August 1, 2 and 8. Swiniopolis is a great introduction to drama for young people, a tragi-comic tale that follows an Orwellian story as little piglets are groomed by their elders to be obedient citizens and worship man, the great creator of their happy universe. However, their carefree existence comes to an abrupt end when they discover the true intentions of their superiors. In a humorous but grotesque cartoon style, Teatr Biuro Podrózy’s trademark stilt-walkers tower over the little piglet rebels with a noble cause.

The National Theatre’s Watch This Space festival will be enticing families into a squashy dome to hear tales from leading storytellers during its Flights Of Fantasy Family Fun week from 12 to 16 August.
Within the brand new inflatable auditorium, storytellers including Jan Blake, Xanthe Gresham, Ben Haggarty, Nick Hennessey and Daniel Morden will tell tales of fantasy and enchantment to children and their parents. Stories are grouped into three categories: Small Stories, aimed at 5 to 7 year olds, which are held in the mornings; Tall Stories, for those aged 8 to 11, held every afternoon; while adults 18+ can be entertained by Stories With An Edge each evening.
The week also includes an array of free family entertainment in Theatre Square, outside the National Theatre. Performances include: Les Moutons, a tale about a shepherd leading his sheep, by Canadian company Corpus; French theatre company Les Grooms’s irreverent brass tribute to Henry Purcell’s King Arthur; an interactive performance about bees entitled Honey; and the chance to befriend an assortment of vegetables, including a sweet potato beauty queen and a marrow with theatrical ambitions, in Vegetable Nannies. International street theatre troupe The Chipolatas rounds off the week’s entertainment on Sunday 16 August with an energetic display of juggling, circus skills and comedy.
Flights Of Fantasy Family Fun marks week seven of the Watch This Space summer festival, a now annual event taking place in the outdoor spaces around the National Theatre which features a huge and varied line up of international artists in both free and ticketed performances. For more information visit the Watch This Space website.
Storytelling sessions are ticketed events and tickets can be purchase from the National Theatre box office on 020 7452 3000.

London’s spectacular new production of Peter Pan staged in a specially designed tent in Kensington Gardens has extended its run due to public demand and will now run until 13 September.

The show features a 360 degree projected design, and tells the classic tale of the boy who wouldn’t grow up and his adventures in Neverland with the Darling children, Wendy, John and Michael.
Kensington Gardens has proved a fitting home for the play, since it was the venue for Barrie’s first meeting with the Llewelyn Davies family, who inspired his most famous creation.
The new London production, which stars Ciaran Kellgren as Peter Pan and Jonathan Hyde as Captain Hook, has proved so successful that following its run in the capital it is to embark on a 12-month tour of North America. A second production will also be launched in New Zealand in 2011 to tour the Far East.
