The staff at the Theatre Royal in York have given up their jobs for three weeks and handed over to a team of under 26s. The TakeOver Festival is about providing young people with the opportunity to work in a professional environment, whilst getting the support of theatre staff

Some of the shows include: Visiting Grandad, Mike Kenny’s touching and funny play which explores the special relationship between a Grandad and his Grandson; Pluck:The Specialists, three stupid musicians pitted together; The Winter’s Tale, Shakespeare’s late romance drama; and, the festivals main production, A Five-Star Werewolf, a black comedy where a young playwright suffers a breakdown whilst staying in a Travelodge claiming to have been attacked by a Werewolf sleeping next door.

Tickets to all shows in TakeOver are free to anyone with a Free Theatre Pass.
